A man inherited a plot of land and was given a bag of seeds along with it. Inside of each one of those seeds was great potential. Some had inside them the ability to produce fruit and others a variety of vegetables. But the fulfillment of their destinies would be determined by the decisions of the farmer.
If the land was cultivated, the seeds were carefully placed into the ground, and both water and sun were sufficient, these seeds would become a thousand times more valuable in their reproduction then they ever would have been had they stayed closed up in the hand of the farmer.
So it is with us. Each of us have inherited from our Creator a handful of talents. And each one of us are given a responsibility of what we will decide to do with them. We may say, “We trust in God and we do not worry about what tomorrow holds”, but if we have not acted responsibly with what God has entrusted to us, can we truly say that we have no worries for tomorrow? Trust and responsibility is meant to be a marriage. Each one has a part to play.
This was the spiritual premise for CBN Israel’s financial training seminar with a group of Lech Lecha students held last week in central Israel. These twelve army graduates were about to make life decisions on their own and had never been taught to handle their finances God’s way. The staff spent the day sharing their knowledge of the Israeli financial systems and how to avoid major, financial pitfalls. To these students who were hungry for wisdom and knowledge, this financial seminar was a banquet before them.
When the seminar had concluded and the Shabbat was coming in, the students begged the staff to stay and share some more. The youth of this generation are in great need of mentors, people who have traversed the path ahead of them and can show them the way. One of the ways you can be used for the glory of God is through sharing your life lessons with others. You never know when the seeds you sow through teaching and instruction will one day become a fruit bearing tree.
“Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.” “The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”- Hebrews 13:7 & Philippians 4:9
